FG Wilson Generator Set Case Study | Power Support for the Moya Building Project in London, UK

2026-04-01

Located in the heart of London's financial district, adjacent to Wall Street, the Moore Regis Tower, a landmark financial center, demands near-stringent standards for the stability, security, and environmental friendliness of its power supply. Recently, Fg Wilson, a globally renowned power solutions provider, leveraged its deep technological expertise and customized service capabilities to successfully supply and deploy a complete set of backup generators for this landmark project. This precisely tailored professional solution ensures the building's stable operation around the clock.

Given the Moore Regis Tower's specific characteristics and site limitations, FG Wilson customized a diversified power supply configuration. The core power supply system consists of two 11kV, 2000kVA high-power generator sets, serving as the backbone of the building's emergency power

These units can seamlessly switch power during main grid outages, ensuring the continuous operation of financial institutions, office systems, and core equipment within the building. Additionally, the project includes a 1500kVA containerized generator set, whose flexible deployment capabilities meet the Backup Power needs of different areas and scenarios within the building, forming a complete power supply system with clear primary and secondary components and complementary synergy.

The unique operating conditions of this landmark urban project placed extremely high demands on the generator sets' vibration reduction, noise reduction, and spatial adaptability. Wilson's technical team was deeply involved, optimizing everything from the installation foundation to the equipment itself: a customized soundproof room was designed specifically for the two main generator sets.

Abandoning traditional installation methods, a specially designed curved I-beam was used as the unit's support base. Through a specific curvature design and a straight unfolding structure, the weight and vibration of the generator sets were precisely offset, minimizing vibration transmission and avoiding impact on the building's structure and the surrounding environment.

Addressing height restrictions and heat dissipation challenges, the technical team recalculated the cooling tank parameters, breaking with conventional designs by adopting a low-profile, double-sided cooling tank. This perfectly met the unit's high-efficiency cooling requirements while conforming to the building's height limitations, achieving a dual balance between function and space.

For the 1500kVA containerized unit, Wilson further maximized its noise reduction technology. Through comprehensive acoustic optimization, an ultra-low noise standard of 78dBA@1 meter was achieved, fully complying with the stringent environmental noise control regulations of central London.

The successful completion of this project not only reaffirms Wilson's strength in power supply for high-end commercial buildings and core financial sectors but also demonstrates its ability to provide customized solutions for complex scenarios and stringent requirements, setting a new benchmark for power security in global urban landmark buildings.
